As a tribute to his mother, HERMA BEAMER, a teacher for over thirty years, and to promote literacy in the Commonwealth of Virginia…

Coach Frank Beamer, his brother Barnett, and sisters Betty and Billie, proudly announce the formation of HERMA'S READERS. The purpose of this non-profit organization is to introduce the power of reading to our youngsters during their formative years, grades K-3.

Current and former Virginia Tech athletes, coaches and dignitaries will visit schools throughout the state to promote READING and EDUCATION.

HERMA'S READERS will launch next fall in conjunction with the start of the 2008 school year.
